Due to Twelfth Night, some books and pieces of art have been created or written. Shakespheare was and is still remembered to be a very inspirational man.

Cakes and Ale is not a well-known book, yet it was inspired by Twelfth Night. This is a fascinating novel about literary snobbery. The portrayal of "loose woman" Rosie Driffield is sexist in modern terms, but her unapologetic hedonism is inspired by Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night: "Dost thou think, because thou art virtuous, there shall be no more cakes and ale?"

All Shook Up is a 2004 American jukebox musical with Elvis Presley music and with a book by Joe DiPietro. The story is based on William Shakespeare's 1602 play Twelfth Night.

Illyria is a musical, with book, music, and lyrics by Pete Mills, based on William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It contains songs such as Patience, The Lady Must be Mad, The Man is Mine, Cakes and Ale, How These Things Start, The Lunatic, Save One, and Undone. It was written in 2004.

She's the Man is a 2006 American romantic comedy film directed by Andy Fickman, inspired by William Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night. The film stars Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum, Laura Ramsey, and Vinnie Jones. The film centers on teenager Viola Hastings who enters her brother's school in his place, pretending to be male, in order to play with the boys' soccer team.
